Customizing your Solution
Technically, Select Solutions E-Commerce consists of two separate applications - the Dynamics NAV Add-on objects in your Dynamics NAV database, and the cloud-based e-commerce site. The applications are integrated using data replication (synchronization) technology based on web services.
Most of customization will involve making changes in both applications, and will require additional settings for data replication.

While we do offer customizing all the pieces by our NAV-experienced and NAV-certified professionals, we do not currently provision a way for partners or customers to customize the web application, which is in line with our SaaS approach to delivering the solution.
This is in fact good news - the implementation partner should only care for the customization of Dynamics NAV objects, all done inside the familiar Dynamics NAV environment, while the less familiar and therefore challenging web application development is handled by Select Solutions with speed and confidence.
Customizing Data Replication
When you have data in place in Dynamics NAV database that you wish to replicate out to the e-commerce site, you can do it without coding in most of the cases.
Our technology provides extensive yet simple setup for the data being replicated. The task has never been easier.
- Replicating an additional field is done with simple setup and no coding
- Replicating an additional table requires 4 lines of code + 1 template function, all doable in under 10 minutes
More complex scenarios may require some C/AL coding. That is in fact rarely needed, and the developers can always follow the well-designed structure of the standard solution, as well as get guidance from Select Solutions, should that be required.
